Hi all and greetings from Israel,

I'll be spending next week in Philadelphia and am looking for ride suggestions (mountain bike, XC is good, single tracks even better), and most important - a bike for rent.

I'm arriving early Saturday morning, and have all the weekend free. Also, I may have some evenings/nights free, so night-rides suggestions are also welcome.

I'd appreciate any help from local riders (or anyone with information).

Hi,
Philly is a heaven for cyclists!
There are wide and endless areas to cycle in.
Take a look at my photo albums in Groopy!
There is Fairmount park, which is awsome.
You can also start your trip at Valley Green.
We started our track next to Bruno's Restaurant, 9800 Germantown Pike, Lafayette Hill, PA.
and you can cycle towards the fairmount park.

There are tracks for Mount. Bike and also for road bikes- which is amazing!

As for bike for rent:
You can check Erdenheim Bicycle & Fitness, 821 Bethlehem Pike, Erdenheim. Pa.19038
Tel: 215-233 3883

OR:
If u come for few weeks- just go on CraigsList, buy a bike and then- just SELL it!
OR-
But in Wallmart a 80$ bike..
Cheaper than rental! ;-)

10x for the info.

I'm coming for a week only, so I prefer renting.
I'll contact the store you gave me, hopefully they can rent something better than an $80 bike...

Ok, I managed at the end.

For future reference, and for everybody else who may be looking, I found a store that rents single-track worthy mountain bikes: Human zoom on 4159 Main St. (http://humanzoom.com/).

Really nice people, great store and great bike. Just 5 minutes ride from the trail at Wissahickon Valley.
The trail and single tracks around it were also a great ride.
